How to Add a New Tax in Rewaa

Different types of taxes apply depending on your business activity and the products or services you provide. In Rewaa, you can add and manage your taxes easily. This article explains the steps.


Available Tax Options in Rewaa

  • Not Subject to Tax

  • VAT 15%

  • Tobacco Fees (for more details, click here)

Steps to Add a New Tax

  1. Go to Settings > Taxes.

  2. Click Add Tax.

  3. Enter the following details:

    • Tax Name

    • Tax Code

    • Tax Line (example: VAT)

    • Rate (example: 15%)

To Add a Compound Tax:

  1. Select the option Compound Tax.

  2. Enter the following details:

    • Compound Tax Name

    • Rate

  3. Click Create.

Edit Tax Details

  1. Go to Settings > Taxes.

  2. Click the 🖊 icon.

  3. Edit the required details.

  4. Click Edit.


FAQs

1. Can I use the tax for both sales and purchases?

Yes. All taxes added to this list can be applied to sales and purchases.

2. What does “Compound Tax” mean?

It means applying multiple taxes on the same product or service. For example, applying VAT on the product price and also applying Excise Tax on certain products.

3. Can I delete a tax after adding it?

No. You cannot delete a tax after adding it, but you can edit it.

4. Will editing tax details affect past invoices?

No. Past invoices are not affected by changes to tax details.

5. If I edit the tax rate, will it update immediately on products?

Yes. The updated tax rate will apply to products. Refresh the page or log out and back in to see the changes.

6. Can I apply a tax to specific products only?

Yes. Add the tax to the list, then assign it to each product as needed.
