What Is the Trial Balance?
The Trial Balance is a financial report that shows the balances of General Ledger accounts for a specific period.
It includes Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Expenses, and Revenues.
Why the Trial Balance Matters
Helps verify that debits and credits are balanced.
Allows for an accurate assessment of your financial position.

Generating the report regularly helps detect accounting errors and review account balances efficiently.
Accessing the Trial Balance
Go to Reports > Financial > Trial Balance.
Click the report to view details.
Viewing Data
Select the time period.
Choose the location.
Select the desired Chart of Accounts level.
ℹ️ Note:
When selecting Summary View, only the last-level accounts (those without sub-accounts) will be displayed.
Filtering Results
You can filter the report by Cost Centers:
Click Filter.
Select the Cost Center.
Click Apply.
The results will update based on the selected Cost Center.

How to Read the Trial Balance
Each account includes the following details:
Opening Balance: (Debit / Credit)
Activity During the Period: (Debit / Credit)
Closing Balance: (Debit / Credit)
At the bottom of the report, you’ll find the total for all accounts, which should match Total Debits = Total Credits.
Exporting the Report
Click Export.
To export as an Excel file, select Excel File.
To export as a PDF file, select PDF File.
The file will be downloaded to your device.

This may indicate an error in recording accounting transactions.
