How to Know the Value of Your Inventory

Learn about the Stock Value Report and how to export it to an Excel file.

The Stock Value Report helps you determine the total cost of products available in your inventory on the platform. It enables you to analyze the financial performance of your business, set pricing and profitability, and make informed decisions for successful inventory management.

💡 Inventory value is calculated based on Product Cost × Available Quantity.

ℹ️ The report shows inventory value based only on the current cost and quantity.

Accessing the Report

  1. Go to Reports > Inventory > Stock Value Report.

  2. Click on the report to view details.

Searching in the Report

  • Enter the product name or location in the search field.

Sorting Data

Click on the columns to sort data. For example:

  • Click on the Stock Value column to sort results from highest to lowest or vice versa.

Report Sections

  • Details: Shows the value of each product in each branch.

  • Summary: Shows the total value of each product across all branches.

Report Data

Product

The product name as entered in the Products section.

Location

The branch where the product is available.

Available Quantity

The quantity currently available in stock.

Unit Cost

The cost per unit of the product.

Stock Value

The total inventory value = Available Quantity × Unit Cost.

Exporting the Report

  1. Click on the three dots on the right side of the page.

  2. Select xlsx.

  3. The Excel file will be downloaded to your device.


FAQs

  1. Can I view the stock value for a specific period?
    No, the stock value is calculated only based on the current cost and available quantity.

  2. How can I know the total stock value?
    From the main page, the total value for all products is displayed. You can choose to view a specific branch or all branches.

  3. Why does the stock value show as (0) for some products even though there is quantity available?
    If either the product’s cost or quantity is missing, the stock value will show as (0).

  4. Can I identify the highest-value or lowest-value products?
    Yes, click on the Stock Value column to sort the data from highest to lowest or vice versa.
