How to Install the Accounting Application on Rewaa

The Accounting application in Rewaa is a comprehensive system that records all financial transactions related to your business. It features an easy-to-use interface suitable for both accountants and non-accountants. In this article, you will learn how to install and set up the Accounting application.


Steps to Install the Accounting Application

  1. Go to Applications > Available Apps.

  2. Click on Accounting.

  3. Click Proceed to install.

  4. The application will be installed immediately and added to the sidebar.

  5. The setup page will appear. Click Start setup now.

ℹ️ Note: The Expense application is linked to the Accounting application. Installing Accounting will automatically install the Expense application.


Start Setting Up the Application

  • Link your payment methods to bank accounts:

    • All payment methods previously added to the platform will appear.

    • Assign a bank account for each payment method.

ℹ️ Note: To add a new bank account that was not previously added:

Go to Add Bank Account > Enter Account Name and Account Number > Click Add.

  • Click Continue setup.

  • You will be redirected to your Chart of Accounts. Click View Chart of Accounts.

  • You can now configure your accounting settings and start adding opening balances.


Enable Accounting Permissions for Users

  1. Go to Settings > Users > ⚙️ > Edit User.

  2. In User Permissions, make sure Detailed is selected.

  3. From the Applications section, expand the menu.

  4. Go to Accounting and expand the permissions.

  5. Enable all permissions, or only the ones you need:

    • View Chart of Accounts

    • View Account Details

    • Journal Entries: Read, Add, Update, Delete

    • Add Opening Balance

    • Customer: Account Statement, Opening Balance

    • Supplier: Account Statement, Opening Balance

  6. Click Save Custom User.


Uninstall the Accounting Application

  1. Go to Applications > Available Apps.

  2. Click on Accounting.

  3. Click Uninstall.

  4. Select the reason for uninstalling.

  5. Click Uninstall.

ℹ️ Note: When you uninstall Accounting:

  • Journal entries will no longer be recorded in the Chart of Accounts.

  • The Expense application will be removed.

  • You will not be able to add or manage Cost Centers.

  • Financial reports and account statements will no longer be available.

2. After installing the Accounting application, why can’t I manually adjust product quantities?

The Accounting application prevents manual adjustments because it records all transactions as journal entries. You can adjust quantities using:

  • Purchase invoices

  • Stock Count (to correct quantities)

  • Stock Transfers (if you have multiple branches in Rewaa)

3. Can I add payment methods or bank accounts after installing the Accounting application?

Yes, you can add payment methods and bank accounts at any time, and they will be reflected in the Chart of Accounts. For more details on adding payment methods, click here.

4. I enabled Accounting permissions for a user, but financial reports are not visible. Why?

Make sure the reports permissions are enabled:

  • Go to Settings > Users > ⚙️ > Edit User.

  • Go to Reports > Reports List.

  • Enable all report permissions.

  • Click Save Custom User. The financial reports will now be available.
