How to Easily Upload Simple Products

Learn the steps to upload simple products in bulk using an Excel file.

Simple products — also known as single-type products — are the most common in retail operations. That’s why Rewaa provides an easy way to upload them to the platform using an Excel file.


Step 1: Download the Excel File

  • Go to Products & Inventory > Products > Import > Quick Import.

  • Select the branch (location) where you want to add product data.

  • Click the download icon to download the Excel file to your device.

Step 2: Add Product Data

  • Read the instructions on the Pre-Import Instructions page.

  • Go to the Products, Quantities, and Prices page.

  • Hover over the main fields such as Product Name and SKU to see what data is required in each field.

  • Add the product data.

  • Review the Input Validation column to make sure the data is correct.

  • Click the (💾) save icon, then close the file.

Step 3: Upload the Excel File to the Platform

  • Go to Products & Inventory > Products > Import > Quick Import.

  • Click Browse Files and select the file from your device, or drag and drop the file into the upload area.

  • Once the upload is complete, a (✅) checkmark will appear.

  • Click Next to validate the data.

Step 4: Final Review Before Uploading

After the platform validates the data, a window will appear showing:

  • Total products included in the file

  • Products ready for import

  • Any errors, with a notification showing the number of products that need correction

Step 5: Import the Data

  • If the data is correct:
    Click Import to upload the data to the platform.

  • If errors exist (from Step 4):

    Option 1 – Ignore and import valid data only:

    a. Download the error report to see which records need fixing later.

    b. Click Import. Only valid data will be imported.

  • Option 2 – Fix errors and re-upload:

    a. Click Download Adjustments Report to identify the incorrect data.

    b. Correct the errors in the original file.

    c. Click Replace File and upload the corrected file.


FAQs

1. What’s the difference between the short Excel file and the detailed one?

The short file includes only the most commonly used fields for uploading products.

The detailed file contains additional data fields for advanced setups.

2. Can I use the short file to upload product bundles or composite products?

No, the short file only supports uploading simple-type products.

3. What happens if the internet disconnects during the import?

The import will pause. Once the connection is restored, it will automatically resume.

4. What happens if I leave a required field empty?

Any row with missing required fields will not be imported. A message will appear showing the error.

5. How can I verify the accuracy of my data before uploading?

Check Column L (Validation) — it will show any errors so you can fix them before importing.

6. How long does it take to import data into the platform?

It depends on the file size. If it takes longer than 5 minutes, a message will appear to notify you.

7. Can I continue working on the platform while the file is importing?

Yes, if the import takes more than 5 minutes, you’ll see a message. Click “Close and notify me when it’s done” to continue working. Once the import is complete, a confirmation message will appear.
